The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) yesterday formally inaugurated the re-elected Chairman of the Seme chapter Ekene Ajunwa and other elected officials.
Ekene was last month returned unopposed as the Chairman Seme border after the only contender, Chris Agbawodikeizu boycotted the election which was fraught with intrigues, accusations and counter-accusations by the two contestants.
Chairman of the association’s Board of Trustees, Chidiebere Enelamah at the swearing in yesterday urged the returing chairman and his executive team to pursue a policy of reconciliation with defeated contestants.
“Your first assignment is reconciliation, put that at the back of your mind. You must bring everybody back to the association because when election is coming up, different groups come up and that will definitely lead to factionalisation of the association but after election and winners emerge then there is need to reconcile all warring factions in order to drive the association forward.
“To the members, do not work against your executives because if you do that today, it may be your turn tomorrow. When they are going astray advise them because it will be for the good of everyone if the association is doing better.
“You must endeavour to work as a family. Do not denigrate yourself. Do not work at cross purposes, let us imbibe the spirit of working as a family.”
In his response, Ajunwa promised to reconcile the various factions that may have arisen as a result of the last election.
