NDLEA seizes hard drugs, arrests 21 suspects at Tin Can port

 

The National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), Tin Can Port Special Area Command seized some cannabis indica, heroine, barcadin syrup with codeine and monetary exhibit of N6 million between January and June.

The command also arrested 21 suspects, out of which 14 are facing trial at a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Speaking in Lagos during an event to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the NDLEA Commander of Nacotics at the Tin Can Island Port, Mohammed Abubakar said that the seizures underscore the steadfast commitment of NDLEA personnel to protect communities from the devastating impact of illicit drugs.

He said the illicit drugs were seized from containers MSCU4581770, TRHU7968071, which came from Durban, South Africa and GAOU6699215 from Montreal Canada.

Abubakar lauded the efforts of sister government agencies and other stakeholders for their support and collaborations in making the seizures.
