The Federal High Court, Lagos on Wednesday adjourned the continuation of cross-examination of the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Raymond Omatseye, who is facing criminal charges before the court till November 10 and 11.
Lawyer to the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Godwin Obla (SAN), informed the court that the agency was yet to get a manual, which the accused claimed to have authorised him to sign contracts above the threshold.
Omatseye is standing trial before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, on an amended 27-count bordering on allegations of contract splitting and bid rigging to the tune of about N1.5 billion.
Lawyer to the former NIMASA Director-General, E. D. Onyeke, also informed the court that his client testified that he has an authoritative manual.
