An Acting Managing Director, Barr. Danladi Ibrahim has been appointed for the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), following the resignation of Hajiya Inna Maryam Ciroma from the position.
Ciroma, who is a former women leader of the then ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), resigned on Thursday 28th May 2015 – a day to the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The NIWA acting MD’s appointment was conveyed through a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport, according to the General Manager Public Affairs of the agency, Tayo Fadile.
Barr. Danladi Ibrahim, until his appointment, was NIWA’s General Manager Legal Services/Company Secretary. He hails from Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
Born on 9th September 1963 in Zuru Town of Kebbi State, he holds L.L.B Hons Degree of the University of Sokoto; Barrister at Law (BL) of Nigerian Law School, Lagos; and also Masters in Public Administration, University of Lagos.
Ibrahim was a Chief Magistrate II in Kebbi State from 1992-1994 from where he moved to work as Assistant Manager, Office of the Board Secretary/Legal Adviser, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) from 1994-1998. In 1998, he joined NIWA as Principal Manager, Legal Services and rose to the rank of General Manager.
