24 hours to the inauguration of General Muhammadu Buhari as the new President of Nigeria, the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Hajiya Inna Maryam Ciroma has resigned her appointment from the Authority effective Thursday 28th of May 2015.
According to a statement issued yesterday by the General Manager Corporate Affairs of the agency, Tayo Fadile, “In her letter of resignation addressed to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, she thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, for giving her the opportunity to serve our dear Country in this capacity.
“Hajiya Inna Maryam Ciroma resumed duty as Managing Director of NIWA on Monday 13th May, 2013, She was a former Minister of Women Affairs and National Woman Leader of the PDP.
Hajiya Inna Maryam Ciroma who said it is the right thing to do, thanked the Management and Staff of NIWA for their cooperation throughout her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Authority,” Fadile stated.
