The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed his ministry’s readiness to facilitate the realisation of the Badagry Deep Sea Port project.
In a meeting with Didi Ndiomu, CEO of Badagry Port Development Limited, in Abuja on Tuesday, Oyetola emphasised the project’s potential, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s administration objectives. He pledged his support, affirming that the ministry will do whatever it takes to achieve the project.
Oyetola acknowledged meeting with interested local and international investors and commended the company’s efforts in overcoming obstacles.
On his part, Ndiomu stated that the project is in its second phase, focusing on implementation and securing strategic financial partners. He highlighted the project’s benefits, including reduced costs for investors due to its natural depth, and urged the Federal Government to lead the drive to boost investor confidence.
The project, which received the Full Business Case Compliance Certificate from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) in 2022, is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) approved by the Federal Executive Council.
