Director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the All Progressives Congress-controlled Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Peterside, who made the call in a special Easter message issued in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, said Buhari has been working assiduously to reposition Nigeria and restore her lost glory.

He said, “As we mark the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us also seize the opportunity to pray for the APC-led Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It has pleased God to put President Buhari in charge of Nigeria at this point in time and we are beginning to see a turnaround in the affairs of our country. Nigerians have indeed made sacrifices over the years and if we continue to support the Federal Government, there is surely light at the end of the tunnel.”

Peterside, who was the governorship candidate of the APC in the 2015 election in Rivers State, called on Christians to reflect on the sacrifices made by Jesus Christ and do things that will contribute to the good of humanity.

The NIMASA boss said rather than just using the period for merriment and visiting family and friends, Christians must lead by example in terms of contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Nigeria.

He stated that in laying down His life, Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice in order to save mankind and bring hope to those who have lost direction and salvation.

He enjoined Christians to portray virtues of love, sacrifice and kindness as demonstrated by Jesus Christ during His sojourn on earth.
