Azzam is currently the biggest and most expensive private yacht in the world. It appears it will, however, be overthrown soon by a yet-to-be-launched megayacht, which is still under construction.
Azzam, worth a mouth-watering US$605 million, is owned by the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Launched in April 2013, the luxurious vessel was built for Al-Nahyan in Germany by Lürssen Yachts. It is 590feet long and can accommodate up to 36 guests and 20 crewmembers at once. It equipped with a state-of-the-art swimming pool, gym, spa, elevator, beauty room and a helipad.
