Police arraign three men for stealing N1.08m empty container

Three men namely Olatunji Kehinde (46), Ojo Oladokun (28) and Rafiu Mamud (38) were on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one empty container worth N1,080,000 belonging at the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa. 

The trio is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on November 10, 2018 at Apapa.

According to the prosecutor, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate O.A Erinle granted them N300,000 bail with two sureties each in like sum.

The sureties are required to furnish the court with six months’ bank statement and proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case till October 22, 2019 for mention.
