Princess Haastrup nominated for Lagos Man of the Year award

The Chairman, Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN), Princess (Dr) Vicky Haastrup, has been nominated for the 2021 Lagos State Man of the Year award.

Princess Haastrup, who is also the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of ENL Consortium – operators of Terminals C and D at the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa – is the only woman and only maritime personality among the 10 nominees for the award.

The chief organiser of the award, Dr Aderemi Aderemi, in a statement on Monday, said the award was designed as a credible programme of paying tribute to excellence.

“The Lagos State Man of the Year Award (LASMAYA) was conceptualized, organized, and objectively designed as a credible project of paying tribute to excellence and also created in essence as an award platform to identify, recognize, and project genuine role models in the Centre of Excellence,” Aderemi said.

He said the winner of the award will emerge “through a very credible participatory voting process of deciding the eventual winner”.

“The nominees for the tenth edition of the award are Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi; Executive Chairman, Lagos Internal Revenue Service, Ayodele Subair; Permanent Secretary Office of Infrastructure, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Lagos State, Rotimi Thomas; Rector, Yaba College of Technology, Obafemi Omokungbe, and Managing Director /CEO, Tricontinental Group, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ashiru.

“Others are, Managing Director/CEO, Keystone Bank Limited, Mr Olaniran Olayinka; Chairman, Avalon Intercontinental, Alhaji Tajudeen Owoyemi; Chairman, Seaport Terminal Operators Association Nigeria, Princess (Dr) Vicky Haastrup; Chairman/GMN, Nucleaus Group, Alhaj Olaide Fowosire and Chairman /CEO, Chemstar Group, Dr Emmanuel Awode,” Aderemi said.
