China’s busy Shanghai port has handled higher container throughput in October, according to figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).
In October, the Chinese port moved 3.22m teu of box volumes, an increase of 5.9% compared to 3.04m teu registered in the same month of 2015, data from SIPG showed.
Last month’s throughput also rose by 2.9% compared to 3.13m teu recorded in September this year.
Over the first 10 months of 2016, Shanghai posted a total throughput of 30.82m teu, representing a 1.4% increase from 30.38m teu seen in the previous corresponding period.
