The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Nigeria today declared force majeure on exports of Bonny Light, Nigeria’s reference crude oil grade, for the second time in three months.

This is coming three days after the international oil company declared force majeure on gas supply to the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) export facility on Bonny Island following a leak on the Eastern Gas Gathering System (EGGS) pipeline through which Shell supplies the bulk of its gas to NLNG.
