Suspected pirates raid another vessel off Nigeria
… Seize more foreign crew
More crew have been kidnapped in another raid on an offshore vessel off Nigeria, according to agency reports.
Oil industry sources were reporting that an unknown number of foreign seafarers were taken from the 2,150-gross tonnage anchor-handler Armada Tuah 101 (built 2007) by pirates.
Russia’s Maritime Bulletin said that another tug intercepted a distress call from the vessel on Sunday, reporting an attack.
Gunmen reportedly boarded the Bumi Armada ship and kidnapped all foreign crew, leaving the remaining Nigerian seafarers to head on to Onne, Rivers State.
Four ships have been attacked during the last 10 days off Nigeria.
The Honduran master and Ukrainian engineer were kidnapped from the 4,200–gross tonnage Walvis 7 (built 1982) last week.
