Intels Nigeria Limited on Tuesday donated N11 million to two organizations in the state in order to assist them meet their charitable obligations, the company’s Head of Public Relations, Isidore Sambol, has said.
Intels is a private terminal operator at Onne Port, Rivers State.
Sambol in his speech while addressing the organisations in Onne, Rivers State, stressed the need for the two organisations, Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF) and Hope House Initiative for Children with Special Needs, to use the donation to implement their programmes, and not to divert it from purposes the money was not meant.
He said that WOTCLEF would spend N5 million of the amount to rehabilitate trafficked, abused, neglected, abandoned and exploited children and youths.
Sambol also said that Hope House Initiative, an organization that caters for children with special needs would spend N6 million on the provision of a home economics laboratory, multi-sensory educational materials for skills improvement and the replacement of obsolete play ground equipment.
He further said that Intels, an integrated logistics services company that handles oil and gas cargo has been assisting the two organizations for five years.
Speaking on the donation, WOTCLEF Coordinator, Veronica Umar, said that the support received from the company “has enabled us sustain our programmes and activities.
“Through your support WOTCLEF has continued to offer rehabilitation support services to hundreds of trafficked children and young Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike.
“Our services have made lasting impact not only on the trafficked persons but on society at large. We have branded Intels Limited ever dependable partner,” she said.
