A truck driver, identified as Stephen Adebayo was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly causing an accident which resulted in the death of one Abioye Wale Adedoyin at Apapa.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ekundayo Gabriel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 10, 2017 at about 12am along Ijora overhead bridge, Apapa.
He said, “The defendant being the driver in charge of a Mack Trailer with registration number APL 260 XP abandoned the said vehicle on the public highway without C caution or warning and thereby caused an accident that resulted to the death of one Abioye Wale Adedoyin.”
Ekundayo added that the deceased drove a Ford Jeep car with registration number EPE 758 CX.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 42 of the Road Traffic law Ch. R5, Vol 9, laws of Lagos State 2015.

Chief Magistrate A.O Awogboro granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
