Boat operators rescued a yet-to-be-identified man on Tuesday after he jumped from the Falomo Bridge in Ikoyi, Lagos into the lagoon in an apparent suicide bid.
A witness to the incident, one Amaka, shared the video of the man’s rescue on social media.
There have been several other incidents of people jumping into the lagoon in Lagos.
On November 2, 2018 a man jumped into the lagoon from the 3rd Mainland Bridge. He died before rescuers could reach him.
A month earlier, precisely on October 2, 2018, another man had also jumped into the lagoon.
He was, however, rescued by some fishermen and officials of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA).
