The award given to the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and World Customs Organisation (WCO) was a well deserved award and don’t forget that it was given to them because their members are licensed by customs who collect revenue into the coffers of the government through the customs.
So, that award means the WCO recognize ANLCA as a revenue generating association and you know that customs won’t be calling licensed agents one after the other to award them so they rather they give it to their body. I don’t see any sentiment about it.
CHUKWUMA ANTHONY
ANLCA deserved the award because the association adheres strictly to customs regulations. Also, the way we comport our activities and members adhere to rules and make local and international body respect the association. Do not forget also that we are members of series of international body one of which is the member of International Freight Forwarders Association (IFFA) so all those association coupled with our compliance with customs rules gave us international recognition.
BOLADE LAWRENCE
The award is ceremonious because it does not add to trade facilitation in Nigeria. The award will not facilitate or promote trade. Though, we all know that ANLCA is the only association recognized by customs and this is because customs licensed them directly and the CG of Customs Alhaji dikko Abdulahi also corroborated that.
DAVID PIUS
The award has truly shown that ANLCA is truly the first licensed customs agent association in Nigeria. I believe this will add to their international pedigree and make them a force to reckon with in Africa. Also, world customs has recognized the contributions of ANLCA in revenue generation including their professionalism in carrying out their jobs.
