A 24-year-old woman, Elizabeth Rahmot Adams, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N5million belonging to Oxpharm Pharmacy Company located at Festac Town, Lagos.
Adams is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, forgery and stealing. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjaye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between May 12, 2019 and February 6, 2020 at about 5 p.m. along 32 Road, Festac Town, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to forge receipt of company POS (Point of Sale) printout, property of Oxpharm Pharmacy Company and stole the sum of N5m,” Tedunjaye said.
According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 365(1) and 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate F.J Adefioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1million with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till March 18, 2020 for mention.
