11 fishermen killed in Egypt boat collision

At least 11 fishermen were killed and 11 others injured when their boat collided with another ship near Egypt’s South Sinai province earlier on Sunday morning, security officials told Xinhua.

The officials said the boat was carrying 45 fishermen, 23 of whom are still missing after the collision in the Gulf of Suez.

Egyptian naval forces and other security and medical teams have rushed to South Sinai town El-Tor to aid the injured and take them to hospital.

According to the officials, three boats near the accident spot are helping to search for the missing fishermen.
