Three men, who allegedly robbed and assaulted two freight forwarders, Bala Lawal and Mohammed Abiodun, were on Wednesday arraigned in an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The three accused are Tope Adesina (30), Ahmed Asifati (33) and Ifeanyi Onuegbu (32).
The prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court the three men attempted to rob the freight forwarders of their belongings at Sunrise bus stop in Apapa Magisterial District, Lagos.
Alexander also said the accused assaulted the freight forwarders by hitting them with intension to rob them. In the process, they allegedly wounded Bala Lawal, removed four of his teeth and injured him on the face.
The trio pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.R Osho-Adebiyi, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum. She ruled that one of the sureties must be a blood relation from the paternal side of the accused.
The case was adjourned to January 11, 2017 for hearing.
