The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) has commended the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for facilitating the recovery of abandoned cargoes worth billions of naira at seaports across the country.
The commendation came at the weekend when NDPHC management, led by Managing Director Engr. Jennifer Adighije, visited the NPA management at its headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
Adighije said the NPA’s intervention had prevented significant financial losses and saved NDPHC several billions of naira.
She stressed that efficient logistics and the timely clearance of critical equipment were essential to the successful delivery of power infrastructure, calling for stronger collaboration between agencies in the energy and maritime sectors to prevent delays that could undermine project execution and service delivery.
According to her, the visit was aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two organisations and deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Adighije expressed NDPHC’s appreciation to NPA Managing Director, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, and his management team for their support in facilitating the recovery of the company’s abandoned cargoes at various seaports.
She said NDPHC valued the assistance provided by the port authority and looked forward to further strengthening the relationship in the interest of Nigeria’s power sector and the wider economy.
Responding, Dantsoho expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed the NPA’s commitment to supporting initiatives and partnerships that promote national development and improve the lives of Nigerians.
He congratulated NDPHC on its contribution to the development of Nigeria’s power sector, adding that the authority remained open to meaningful engagement with the company.
Dantsoho assured the delegation of the NPA’s continued support for initiatives that advance the interests of both organisations and contribute to the growth of the national economy.
