Academy profers solution to challenges in transport sector

The management of Crown Maritime Academy (CMA) has said that the academy is poised to provide solution to the numerous problems bedeviling the transport sector.

Speaking at a one day retreat for academic staff of the institute held at its Ikeja campus, the Registrar, Mr. Musa Akinyemi said the academy would provide a total quality transport education for the support of the economic growth of the nation through maritime and other transport segments.

He said the academy has qualified academic staff and equipment at its disposal to provide manpower needs of the industry.

He noted that despite some challenges, the school recorded some successes in 2014 as some of its graduates were gainfully employed by some government agencies and industrial trainees were accorded opportunity to serve.

Deputy Registrar of the school, Mr. Titilayo Onukwu, charged government to develop the transport industry because of its enormous economic potentials in terms of huge revenue and employment opportunity.
