African woman smuggler released after being diagnosed with HIV

The Anti-Narcotics Force in Lahore, Pakistan last weekend arrested a female who attempted to smuggle 480 grammes of heroin from Zimbabwe to Lahore, India.

The smuggler, Katota Daru, according to details was detained in the women’s cell of KotLakhpat Prison.

During her medical check-up, it was found that she is infected with HIV and later on, she was produced before the court where it was revealed that woman is a HIV patient.

The special judge of Anti-Narcotics Court, after examining her medical report, immediately ordered the officials concerned to send her back to Zimbabwe as soon as possible. The court converted her days that she spent in jail during trial as her sentence.
