The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has received an Award of Recognition from his alma mater, St. Patrick’s Grammar School in Ibadan, in appreciation of his commitment to mentoring young people and supporting the development of future generations.
The honour was presented during the school’s 64th Founders’ Day celebration in Ibadan, where Mobereola joined fellow alumni and stakeholders to mark the institution’s long-standing legacy of academic excellence and character building.
Responding to the recognition, Mobereola expressed deep gratitude to the school’s management and the Old Boys’ Association, describing the award as one that carries special personal meaning.
Reflecting on his years at the school, he said attending the 64th Founders’ Day celebration brought back a flood of memories from his formative years.
“Fifty years after walking through those gates where many of my formative years were shaped, I remain deeply grateful for the friendships, the guidance from teachers and the enduring bond of classmates,” he said. “I also wish to sincerely appreciate the Old Boys’ Association for the recognition accorded me this year. I do not take this honour for granted.”
Mobereola reaffirmed his dedication to mentoring younger generations, saying he remains committed to serving as a role model and guiding young men as they navigate their own paths in life.
He also urged current students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to excellence, stressing that mentorship and strong role models play a vital role in shaping future success.
