ANLCA sets sight on N200 million Nat’l Secretariat • BoT election to hold in December

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) is on the verge of having a permanent secretariat as it has raised about 18 million naira for this purpose.
The ANLCA National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Port Harcourt last Thursday witnessed members of the association donating to the actualisation of a permanent secretariat for the association. Although, according to the project’s fund raising committee, it requires two hundred million naira to acquire a befitting secretariat for the association, the funds raised so far has not done justice to the target.
Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Henry Njoku, who is also the chairman of the fund raising committee, had at the meeting tasked members of the association to make generous financial contributions towards the project.
It was agreed at the meeting that aside voluntary donations, every corporate member of the association should pay a levy of fifty thousand naira on account of the secretariat project.

The ANLCA National President, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, had urged that the levy be paid by the end of November so that the project would be realised by the end of year.
He said the association is better off having its own permanent secretariat than making rent payments of five million naira annually for the property it is presently occupying.
The ANLCA constitution was also reviewed at the meeting with respect to the provisions of the constitution on the mode of election of the Board of Trustee (BoT) and electoral guidelines read by the Chairman Association Electoral Commission (ASECO) for the forthcoming election scheduled to hold in December 2013.
