The Shipping Manager of Bolloré Logistics in Nigeria, Sunday Otaru, on Saturday emerged winner of the 5th Ships & Ports Table Tennis Tournament, carting home the Prince Olayiwola Shittu Trophy.
Bolloré Logistics, previously known as SDV, is the transport and logistics business unit of France-headquartered Bolloré Group.
Otaru deposed Kehinde Borokinni of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) who has won the tournament for four years, since inception in 2013.
In the keenly contested final match played in the Table Tennis Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Otaru defeated Wole Braemi of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to the second position in two straight sets.
Another NIMASA staff, Ikoko Jeremiah defeated Kehinde Borokini in the third place match to clinch the third prize of the tournament.
The annual competition is sponsored by National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu.
A total of 29 persons from various maritime organisations registered for the tournament this year.
