Vandals struck in the early hours of today at the Arepo area of Ogun State vandalising the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines in that area.
The vandalisation of the pipelines have caused huge explosion resulting to a heavy billow of fire in the area.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesman Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye said the incident occurred around 5.20am and that fighting experts from the NNPC have been deployed to the area to contain the fire.
He was silent on casualty figures but added that supplies have been stopped and valves locked up to prevent more fire.
