A search is underway for a missing crewmember of a Dutch-flagged cargo ship who is believed to have fallen overboard in the River Humber this week.
The UK Maritime and Coastguard said it launched an intensive search Wendesday night following a report by the Humber Vessel Traffic Services that a crewmember had gone overboard from the MV Freya while underway on the River Humber close to Grimbsy.
An extensive search of the river took place involving Humber and Cleethorpes RNLI lifeboats, a rescue helicopter from RAF Leconfield and 25 commercial vessels from the Grimsby.
A thorough search of the shore lines was also carried out by a Cleethorpes Coastguard Rescue Team, but so far no sign of the man has been found.
The 6,850 DWT MV Freya was sailing to the Port of Immingham when the incident occurred.
