CIOTA to hold 3rd transport summit

 

The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) said its third National Transport Summit in December. 

Chairman, planning committee of the summit, Osuala Nwagbara, said “Regulating the Transport Sector in Nigeria: The state of the art and the years ahead” has been choses as the theme of the event, which will hold in Abuja and is expected to be chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. 

“The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria is the premier chartered professional transport body in Nigeria, providing training, membership, and certification that specifically address the work performed by transport professionals. 

“The institute became chartered by an Act of the National Assembly on the 22nd of May 2019, and gazette with the Federal Government Act No. 27 of 2019 as a corporate body with perpetual succession, charged with the responsibility of advancing the study, training, and regulating the practice of transport management and administration in Nigeria in all its ramification and for other related matters.

“In line with the advocacy in public policy mandate as stipulated by the Federal Government Act, the institute kick-started her Annual National Summit event. This annual event has become a one-stop event for policymakers and transport professionals to share ideas and best practices that have enabled more efficient transport management and administration in Nigeria,” he said. 

He said speakers for this year’s summit would be drawn from the academics, operations, administrations, and management among others.
