Count me out of MEND negotiation team- Rewane

Chief Executive Officer of Financial Derivatives Company, Bismarck Rewane, has denied being part of the negotiation team of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND.

Rewane stated categorically that he was not a member of MEND and therefore could not be part of its team to dialogue with the Federal Government.

MEND had on Monday named Rewane as a provisional member of its negotiation team, tagged Aaron Team 2.

According to MEND spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, the team will be lead by former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Odein Ajumogobia.

Bismark Rewane (Delta), Florence Ita-Giwa (Cross River), Timipa Jenkins Okponipere (Bayelsa), Ledum Mitee (Rivers), Lawson Omokhodion (Edo) and Ibanga Isine (Akwa Ibom) were named as part of the militant group’s negotiation team to stem the tide of violence in the Niger Delta region.
