The Nigeria Customs Service Board has confirmed the appointment of two Assistant Comptrollers General and approved the promotion of 2,209 senior officers.
The Board confirmed the appointment during its 58th regular meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun on Tuesday, 19 December 2023, at the Nigeria Customs Service headquarters.
The appointed officers confirmed as substantive members of the NCS management team are ACG Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and ACG Queen Ogubudu.
According to a statement issued weekend by the service, 348 personnel were promoted from the rank of Inspector of Customs to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II); 321 were promoted from ASC II to ASC I; 355 were promoted from ASC I to Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) while 207 were promoted from DSC to Superintendent of Customs (SC).
The statement also confirmed the promotion of 500 officers from the rank of Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC); 333 from CSC to Assistant Comptroller (AC); 78 from AC to Deputy Comptroller (DC), and 67 DC to Customs Comptroller.
The Customs Board also approved special promotions for 14 officers in recognition of their exceptional performance in their assigned responsibilities.
“Among the newly promoted Comptrollers are TM Daniyan, F Fajana, N Isyaku, MV Umana, AC Nwobi, F Abdulqadir, HK Ejibunu, FM Ojiofor, IN Aliyu, MD Malah, EO Oshoba, JK Oladeji, E Luka, AP Daruaku, FM Ojeifor, IN Nwokorie, EJ Harrison and others,” the statement read.
