Three times champion, Nigeria Customs Service was yesterday defeated by Sifax Group in the first quarter final match of the ongoing 6th Maritime Cup competition.
Sifax won 6-5. The match ended 1-1 at full time and had to go into penalty shoot out where Sifax scored 5 kicks to Customs’ 4. It is the first time Customs would not get to the final of the competition.
In another quarter final match, Micura Stevedoring Service defeated Dominion Divine Freight Forwarders to book a place in the semi-final match of the completion.
The two remaining quarter final matches were be played at 4pm between NAGAFF and Apapa Bulk Terminal (ABTL) at Astro Turf pitch and between APM Terminals Apapa and ENL Consortium at NIS pitch both at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
NAGAFF defeated ABTL 3-0 while ENL defeated APM Terminals 2-1.
The semi-final match will be played on Wednesday. NAGAFF will play against Sifax Group while Micura will fight for the final ticket with ENL Consortium.
