The Tin-Can Island Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday announced the seizure of cache of arms, ammunition and illicit drugs imported into the country.
The seized items include military camouflage and illicit drugs such as colorado, heroine, cocaine, among others.
The arms recovered included automatic single barrel rifles and pump action guns, among other weapons.
Speaking at a press conference, the Customs Area Controller, Tin Can Island Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, stated that the seizures were made by eagle-eyed officers attached to the command.
Nnadi said some persons arrested in line with the seizures are still in detention and would be prosecuted accordingly.
