Casper Andersen has been appointed as the new Director for EU Affairs of the Danish Shipowners Association (DSA).
He will head DSA’s representation in Brussels, which employs a team of four. Casper will also join the management team at Danish Shipowners’ Association with responsibility for EU relations.

The decisions taken by the EU institutions are vital for our members and it is consequently of great importance to maintain a strong voice for Danish shipping in Brussels. Casper Andersen is a great asset to our organisation as he has a deep understanding of how Bruxelles operates and has been involved in EU affairs throughout his career,” says Anne H. Steffensen, CEO of the Danish Shipowners’ Association.
Casper Andersen has previously been employed for many years at the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), and as corporate public affairs advisor at the Danish Representation to the EU.
“I look forward to being part of an association and an industry that is characterized by a global outlook. As Denmark’s largest export sector, shipping is dependent on open markets and an regulatory framework that is competitive internationally. My task is to continue a close dialogue with legislators and stakeholders in Brussels, so we together strengthen Europe as a maritime powerhouse,” says Casper Andersen.
The Danish Shipowners’ Association has been represented in Brussels since 1989. The past eight years, the representation was headed by Simon Bergulf. He takes up a new position as Director of Regulatory Affairs in Maersk.
Casper Andersen starts as Director for EU Affairs the 3. April 2017.
