Comptroller Dera Nnadi has assumed duty as the Customs Area Controller at the Ogun 1 Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service.

He replaces Comptroller Peter Kolo, who is proceeding on a three- month pre-retirement leave in preparation for his exit from the service.

Until his recent promotion to the rank of Comptroller, Nnadi was the Deputy Comptroller in charge of administration at the command.

A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Hammed Bukoye Oloyede, said the change in leadership became effective on Monday.

While speaking during a handover ceremony at the command, Comptroller Kolo described the appointment of Comptroller Nnadi as his successor as commendable.

In his response, the new Area Controller Nnadi thanked the Customs management for finding him worthy of the position and pledged to discharge his duty with utmost diligence and high sense of responsibility.

He also thanked the outgoing CAC, who had been his boss in the last one year when he was redeployed from the Tin Can Island Command of the service for his mentorship and selfless service to the Nigerian nation.

Until his posting to the Ogun 1 Command, Idiroko, Nnadi was the Deputy Comptroller in charge of Enforcement at the Tin Can Island Command, during which outstanding seizures comprising large cache of arms and ammunition, illicit drugs including large quantities of outlawed tramadol and many other contraband goods were made.
