A 35-year old diesel seller, Ahmed Adamu, has been charged to an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting an aged man identified as Mohammed Buba, leading to the man’s disappearance.
Adamu pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges against him.
The prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 16, 2017 at about 3:10am at PHCN Office, Tin-Can Island Port, Apapa by using cable wire to torture one Mohammed Buba that led to his disappearance.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 170 and 166 (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs Osho Adebiyi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till May 16, 2017.
