Customs law outdated, says Comptroller-General
Hameed Ali, Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali, has urged officers of the Nigeria Customs Service to be modest and resolve render service that will add value to the country.

Ali, who gave the charge in a goodwill message to Muslim officers in commemoration of the end of the yearly Ramadan season, also advised them to be modest and reflect the lessons of the month-long fasting period.

“After a month-long period of Ramadan, Eid el Fitr is here again – a time to cheer and a time to celebrate; a time to thank the Almighty Allah for his protection and graces so richly bestowed on us and our nation.

“My dear officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service, as you celebrate, I urge you to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan; that of modesty, love for one another and resolving to do things that will add value to our country and edification of the Almighty Allah (SWA).

“In this difficult time of coronavirus, as we celebrate, let us protect ourselves and people around us by wearing face masks and practicing all the directives of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). I wish you and indeed all Nigerians, the peace and blessings of Eid el Fitri,” Ali said in a statement made available to SHIPS & PORTS.
