ENL, Josephdam qualify for Maritime Cup final 

BREAKING NEWS: ENL defeats ABTL to sail into Maritime Cup final 

ENL Consortium, operators of Terminals C and D at the Lagos Port Complex Apapa, and Tin Can Island Port operator, Josephdam Ports Services, have qualified for the final of the 2019 Maritime Cup competition.

Both teams are reaching the final of the competition, which is organised annually by Ships & Ports, for the first time.

ENL defeated Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) 2-0 in the first semi-final match played yesterday morning. ENL scored the goals in the 17th and 80th minutes of the match through strikers Gabriel Isaac and John Joseph respectively.

Later in the afternoon yesterday, defending champions Nigerian Ports Authority crashed out of the competition after losing 0-1 to Josephdam in a tension-soaked semi-final encounter. Chibueze Hardy scored through a penalty at the 78th minute to give Josephdam victory and set up the final match with ENL Consortium holding today.

NPA will play the third place match with Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) today at 1pm while the final match will be played at 4pm. Both matches will be played at the NPA Sports Ground, Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos.

The 2019 Maritime Cup competition, which is the 11th in the series, is supported by Dangote Ports Operation, Morbod Group and NPA.
