FG inaugurates NIWA, NITT boards

The federal government on Friday inaugurated the board of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and the governing council of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT).
Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar, who performed the inauguration ceremony, named Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu as Chairman of the NIWA board and Prince Olusola Akanmode as Chairman of the NITT governing council.
Members of the NIWA board are Rear Admiral Mike Onah (Rtd), Managing Director of NIWA, Hajia Maryam Ciroma and a representative of Federal Ministry of Transport.

The others are representative of the National Planning Commission; representative of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources; representative of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering Profession in Nigeria (COREN); representative of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria; representative of the Nigerian Association of Master Mariners (NAMM); representative of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and representative of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The NITT governing council has Hon. Idonibin Obagama; Alh. Garba Dahiru; and Barrister Mahmud A. Gurumpawo as members.
