Lagos FA praises Maritime Cup Competition

The ongoing 5th Maritime Cup Competition has attracted praise from the Lagos State Football Association.
Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Mr. Tade Azeez, commended Ships & Ports Communications Company for the high standards of this year’s tournament.
He made the commendation during a meeting with members of the Local Organising Committee of the 5th Ships & Ports Maritime Cup Competition at the association’s secretariat in Lagos.
Azeez, who described the competition as national in outlook, affirmed that the association is committed to partnering with Ships & Ports Communication Company to ensure that the competition gets the recognition it deserves from the Nigerian football community.

He described the Maritime Cup Competition as a brand the Lagos State Football Association would be proud to project as a model for other competitions in the state.
Meanwhile, Group B appears to be the group of death, as teams in the group still have equal chance of qualifying for the quarter finals of the 5th Maritime Cup Competition.
In the first match of the second round, Micura Services defeated APM Terminals by a lone goal in a pulsating encounter.
The goal was scored by Alimi Afeez in the 70th minute of play.

The results of the other matches played yesterday include: Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), which recorded three goals against Chartered Institute of Shipping (CIS), which had none; and Bollore, which equally had no single goal in response to the10 goals Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) poured into the team’s net.
Others are: National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), 4 and Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL), 0; and Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, Nigeria (AREFFN), 1 and Nigerian Navy 2.
In today’s matches, table-topping Ocean Star locks horns with second placed ENL Consortium, while Sifax Group team will hope to revamp its hopes when it takes on MSC Football Club.
