Man arraigned for damaging firm’s consignment

A 29-year-old man, Lawal Babatunde has been arraigned at Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly destroying a consignment worth N268,000 property of Ndokwa Group of Companies.

Babatunde pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against him by the police.

The prosecuting counsel, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 28, 2017 at about 11:50pm at No 22, Burma Road, Apapa.

He said the 29-year-old unlawfully destroyed two LG flat screen television valued at N168,000, ten (10) pieces of house doors valued at 80,000 and ten (10) empty crates of beer bottles valued at N20,000.

Inedu gave the total value of items destroyed as N268,000.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened sections 412 and 350 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum. He adjourned the case tillSeptember 20, 2017 for mention.
