A 25-year-old man, Meshack Musa, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for stealing one TVS motorcycle at Kirikiri Town, Apapa.
Musa is facing a two-count charge of stealing motorcycle and cash. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Inspector Julius Babatope, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between December 6, 2019 and March 2, 2020 at about 11am at Abdullahi Street, Kirikiri Town, Apapa.
“The defendant stole one TVS motorcycle valued at N193,000 property of one Henry Chibogwu.
“He also stole the cash sum of N32,500 property of one Chinonso Okoye,” Babatope said.
According to him, both offences are punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate R.E Ojudun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of three years tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the matter till March 17, 2020 for mention.
