A 20-year-old man, Abeeb Isiaka, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one iphone, three ATM cards and others in Lagos.
Isiaka is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on November 19, 2019 at about 6am along Market Street, Amukoko.
“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal one iphone valued at N120,000, power bank valued at N10,000, three ATM cards of Eco, Access and GT Bank, physical cash of N15,000. Total value of N145,000 property of one Bashiru Sekina,” Onaiwu said.
According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2012.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Magistrate O.S Abioye granted him N50,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
One of the sureties must be a blood relative of the defendant.
He adjourned the case till December 19, 2019 for mention.
