A 27-year-old man, Hasky Ibrahim, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stabbing another man with knife on his head and left hand in Lagos.
Ibrahim is facing a one-count charge of assault.
The prosecutor, Inspector Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 27, 2019 at about 9am at Adamawa Village, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos.
“The defendant unlawfully assaulted one Ezra Ishaku by stabbing him with a knife on his head and left hand which caused him serious bodily harm,” Obongha said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Magistrate Adenike Alaka granted him N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum.
The surety is required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the matter till October 3, 2019 for mention.
