A 25-year-old motorboy, Rilwan Adetunji, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing colleague over betting in Apapa.
Adetunji is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on January 13, 2019 at about 10:38pm at White Sand, Ijora-Badia, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to unlawfully inflict wound by stabbing one Abdullahi Salisu in his stomach with poisonous dagger which caused him grievous harm.” Aigbokhan said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 245(a) and 246(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko denied the bail of the defendant till further notice.
She adjourned the case till February 27, 2019 for mention.
