Container line MSC is re-routing some vessels from French ports due to ongoing industrial action in the country, which has paralysed multiple modes of transportation.

“MSC is carefully implementing contingency plans wherever we need to re-route cargo to nearby European container ports in accordance with our terms and conditions of carriage,” the line said in a notice to customers.

MSC said shippers could contact local representatives for further details of any changes to consignments bound for discharge in France.

The container line said it would strive to “resume normal services as soon as practically possible”.
