NAGAFF reiterates commitment to partner with Customs

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has restated its commitment to continuous partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) for an enhanced maritime sector and boost of the nation’s economy.
This reaffirmation was brought up during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the association led by its National President, Chief Eugene Nweke, to the office of the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘C’, NCS, Deputy Comptroller Victor Dimka, in Owerri, capital of Imo State, last Monday.
Nweke, while assuring Dimka of the continuous support of the association, commended him for the giant strides taken by the Unit in the fight against smuggling and other illegal trade in the zone which he said has “caught the attention of NAGAFF High Command.”

He expressed satisfaction in the overall transformation of the Service aimed at enhanced trade facilitation and boost of the nation’s revenue base and a more people-friendly Customs.
The NAGAFF boss used the occasion to call on freight forwarders to avail themselves of the various educational opportunities available to improve their competence since, according to him, “the Customs of tomorrow will be different from that of yesterday.”
The Customs FOU Zone ‘C’ boss, while appreciating the NAGAFF delegation for their visit, lauded the rapport between NAGAFF and the Customs, which, according to him, has been of much benefit to the activities of the two organisations.
He commended the association for its robust intellectual contributions to the maritime industry which according to him has helped in no small measure to move the nation forward.
The Area Controller called for continued cooperation amongst all the stakeholders in the sector.
