New cargo airline debuts in Nigeria

The Chief Operating Officer of Sanya Airways Corporation, Segun Adesanya on Monday announced the commencement of the company’s new air cargo service to Lagos, Nigeria from the world busiest airport, Atlanta, USA utilizing a Boeing 767-300ER.
Adesanya said the B767 freighter will operate weekly on a continuation leg to Lagos from Liege in Belgium and then ferry to Namibia where it will uplift perishables bound to Liege.
He said the new service will enables Sanya Airways market perishable exports from South Africa to Europe which is growing rapidly.
He said the B767-300ER will provide inbound capacity for Sanya Shipment in Europe and  USA for onward connectivity to it’s West African network.
The service is also said to be good for delivering products that are bought online abroad by African traders.
“We are very excited with this new venture that will  be a cost-effective cargo charter solution to freight forwarders, traders, online users for heavy and outsize pieces, energy equipment, time critical cargo, dangerous goods etc,” he said
Adesanya said its  Nigerian partner- Broadline Services Limited will assist with documentation collection, customs formalities if required and trucking while warehousing arrangements will be provided by Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO).
