The Niger State Government said it has donated the sum of N1 million to victims of fire and boat disasters in Borgu and Mokwa areas of the state.
Malam Isah Usman, Acting Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA),stated this on Thursday, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna.
“38 persons were affected in boat mishap and patrol tanker explosion. Three victims in Borgu and 35 in Mokwa.
“Eight persons died in boat mishap and six lost their lives in tanker explosion. Two survivors are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center (FCM), Bida.
“The victims receiving treatment are also being catered for in this relief intervention for their proper rehabilitation and recovery,” he said.
