Personnel of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Formoso have rescued two teenagers after their wooden boat capsized in Egweama Community, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the two 16-year-old boys ran into difficulty while returning from a routine trip along the community’s waterways.
The boat overturned in rough water, leaving them stranded and at risk of drowning.
In a statement on Thursday, the Director of Naval Information, Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, said FOB Formoso personnel swiftly responded after spotting the distressed teenagers, rescuing them and evacuating them to safety.
The boys received medical attention following the rescue and were confirmed to be in stable condition.
